VX Company never dreamed they would look up to the cloud in order to help thousands of people in Africa, back down on the ground. One significant project VX supports is the Soweto Care System (SCS) - a Java-based, Grails application currently in use in about 90 different non-governmental organizations (NGOs), all focused on AIDS-related programs.

Originally developed as a PC-based, desktop application, VX redeveloped and enhanced Soweto, using Jenkins Continuous Integration server and eventually offered it as a cloud-based SaaS. Today, NGOs can more easily utilize Soweto, without worrying about IT support resources and at the same time, VX can focus on servicing one version of the software.

Using CloudBees for it's PaaS environment and for SaaS delivery, VX is able to start new projects in minutes, reduce operating expenses by up to 30%, enhance productivity and reduce customer support time by 90%. The Partner ecosystem also provides instant extensibility when needed. Read the full case study here.
